Pakistani actress Meera has once again sparked conversation online after making a bold claim about a missed Bollywood opportunity. During a recent interview with the digital media channel Discover Pakistan, she revealed that legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra had cast her in his film alongside Shah Rukh Khan.
According to Meera, the film in question was Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and she was offered the role that was eventually played by Katrina Kaif, a character shot largely in London.
Released in 2012, Jab Tak Hai Jaan became one of Bollywood’s most beloved romantic films. It also starred Anushka Sharma in a leading role and marked Yash Chopra’s final directorial venture.
Meera said that receiving an offer from such a legendary director was one of the proudest moments of her career, and that she still cherishes the memory and the respect she received from Bollywood’s biggest names.
She also claimed she was warmly welcomed by top Bollywood figures, including Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Karan Johar, Dilip Kumar, and Gauri Khan, and that she stayed as a guest at Dilip Kumar’s home for around ten days.
The claim quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions. The statement triggered debate and trolling on social media, with many users questioning its credibility. Many said she knows the art of making headlines in the media.
Meera is currently promoting her upcoming film Psycho, which she is also producing herself. The film is set to release on Eid al-Adha and stars Shaan Shahid in the lead role alongside her.
Love her or question her, Meera certainly knows how to keep people talking.
