Sarah Aijaz Khan Apologizes for Islamic Book Scene in Zabt

Sarah Aijaz Khan is a well-known Pakistani television actress, best known for dramas such as Bawli, Meesni, and Dooriyaan. She first gained attention through the drama Sharpasand, which became her breakthrough project. She is currently receiving praise for her performance in the popular Geo TV series Zabt.

Recently, however, Zabt faced strong criticism because of a controversial scene. In the scene, Sarah’s character gets angry and throws several objects off a rack. Unfortunately, one of these objects turned out to be an Islamic religious textbook. This scene upset many viewers online, who demanded an apology from the actress, the drama’s makers, and the TV channel.

Responding to the backlash, Sarah Aijaz Khan posted a video apology. She explained that she is a practicing Muslim who deeply respects the Quran and all religious books. She said she would never intentionally throw a religious text on the floor out of anger.

She further explained that actors usually perform scenes exactly as arranged by the production and art departments, without changing the props themselves, since these are part of the scene’s continuity. She said the scene was shot in a single take, so there was no chance to notice that the book was actually an Islamic studies textbook. Had the team noticed earlier, she said, they would have corrected it right away.

Sarah ended her apology by saying she has sincerely asked for forgiveness from Allah and requested her followers and viewers to forgive her too for this unintentional mistake.
