Actor Kinza Hashmi is winning fans in real life, not just on screen. She plays a smart and powerful politician in her drama Leader, and her acting has impressed real lawmakers. This week, she got a special invitation to visit Pakistan’s National Assembly.
MNA Romina Khurshid Alam, who had already praised Hashmi’s performance, invited the actor to the assembly building. In a video shared on Instagram, Hashmi is seen walking through the building with Alam, who showed her artworks, models, and historical items on display there.
During the visit, Hashmi also went to the assembly floor and met staff members. In Alam’s office, the three-time MNA gave Hashmi a small gift to thank her for showing the lives of women in politics so well on television. Alam said she felt proud of Hashmi and called her work “commendable.”
Hashmi later wrote on Instagram that the visit helped her understand her role in Leader on a deeper level. She said politics may look like a privilege from the outside, but it is really a big responsibility and commitment.
The actor also met Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar during her trip. She said they discussed important issues, especially those faced by women working in media.
Earlier in July, Alam and Balochistan MNA Jamal Raisani had already praised Hashmi’s performance, calling it “phenomenal.” In Leader, Hashmi plays Rubab, the daughter of a powerful politician who later takes over her father’s political party.
