Pakistani actor and host Fahad Mustafa is in the news, but not for his films. He appeared in a promotional interview for his upcoming film Aag Lagay Basti Mein, wearing casual sportswear, including shorts, while speaking with journalist Maliha Rehman. Many viewers found the clothing choice inappropriate for a professional televised interview.
He also sat for a separate interview with journalist Aamna Haider Isani, alongside co-star Mehwish Hayat, who wore an elegant red dress. His bare legs quickly became the main topic of discussion online, overshadowing the film promotion entirely.
The criticism was harsh. One person wrote, “There is a decorum when you are sitting with two ladies. How can he wear this?” Another said, “He thinks he is looking good, but he looks completely uncool.”

However, not everyone agreed. Actor and host Aadi Adeal Amjad defended Fahad, pointing out that one event took place at a sports stadium, making shorts completely appropriate. “This was a sports night, not a religious gathering,” he said, adding that people were overreacting.
Fahad himself stayed unbothered. He openly acknowledged wearing shorts, said he expected criticism, and made clear he has worn shorts since his school days and plans to continue doing so.
Some fans sided with him, calling it a personal preference and labelling the debate unnecessary. The incident shows how celebrity fashion choices in Pakistan can quickly spark bigger conversations about culture, decorum, and personal freedom.
