Pakistani superstar Mahira Khan has once again shown why she is loved far beyond the borders of Pakistan. The actress recently expressed her deep admiration for Malayalam cinema, saying she would love to be part of a Mollywood film someday.
In a video shared by Asian Culture Vulture, Mahira was seen interacting with a crew member who told her he speaks Malayalam and is from South India. The Pakistani superstar instantly lit up and shared her love for Malayalam films, saying she would love to star in one someday. She called Malayalam films one of her favourites and said they are among the best movies in South Asia, especially when it comes to content.
In the clip, Mahira also made it clear she was specifically talking about Malayalam cinema and not Tamil or Telugu films. Names of Malayalam stars like Mohanlal and Prithviraj quickly became part of the conversation.
She praised Malayalam films for their storytelling, acting, and production values, and expressed her desire to work in the industry. Her words have resonated strongly with fans across South Asia, reflecting the growing cultural appreciation between regional entertainment industries.
Mahira Khan is one of the highest-paid actresses in Pakistan, known for her remarkable work in both Pakistani television and films, including her Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan. She is also close friends with Malayalam director and actor Prithviraj Sukumaran and his wife Supriya Menon, which has further fueled fan excitement about a possible Mollywood collaboration in the future.
For now, no official project has been announced, but Mahira’s genuine love for Malayalam cinema continues to win hearts on both sides of the border.
