Maryam Nawaz’s Daughter Mahnoor Safdar to Marry on September 12

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s daughter, Mahnoor Safdar, is set to get married on September 12, according to family sources. The nikah ceremony will take place at the Sharif family’s residence in Jati Umra, near Raiwind.

Sources say the 24-year-old will marry into a well-known business family, though the groom’s identity has not been officially shared with the media. Unlike some past family celebrations, this wedding is expected to remain a strictly private affair, with only close relatives attending.

The engagement ceremony earlier this year was also kept low-key, attended by PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, members of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s family, Mahnoor’s father Captain (retired) Muhammad Safdar, and other close relatives. At the time, Nawaz Sharif was seen praying for the couple’s happiness.

The wedding comes just days after Maryam Nawaz travelled to London to attend Mahnoor’s graduation ceremony, returning to Lahore this week. The Chief Minister had earlier spoken about how proud and happy she felt watching her daughter graduate.

This will be the second major family wedding in less than a year. Mahnoor’s brother, Junaid Safdar, married Shanzeh Ali Rohale, granddaughter of former lawmaker Sheikh Rohale Asghar, in January. That event featured multiple days of celebrations, including a mehndi, baraat, and valima, and drew huge public interest. In contrast, the Sharif family appears to be keeping Mahnoor’s nikah simple and away from the public eye.
