Pakistani singer Atif Aslam has hit a huge new milestone. According to Spotify, he now has nearly 8 billion streams on the platform, along with more than 30 million monthly listeners spread across 184 countries. These numbers show just how far his music has traveled beyond Pakistan’s borders.
Spotify’s new listening insights highlight the scale of Atif’s connection with fans around the world. One of the most striking figures is that 96% of his Spotify streams over the past year came from outside Pakistan. His fanbase stretches across South Asia, the Middle East, North America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific region, proving his appeal goes well beyond his home country.
Interestingly, much of this massive audience is young. Gen Z listeners make up a large share of his total streams, showing that his music continues to attract new, younger fans decades after he first started singing. At the same time, more than 41 million listeners either discovered his music for the first time or returned to it over the past year. His songs also live on in everyday life, as Atif’s tracks appear on more than 37.5 million user-created playlists worldwide, from wedding playlists to late-night drive mixes.
This wave of recognition comes right before the release of his new album, “Subah Aye Na,” due out on July 31. Notably, this will be his first full-length album since “Meri Kahani” came out back in 2008. Speaking about the record, Atif described it as a personal project reflecting his journey toward freeing himself from noise and reconnecting with his true self.
