Pakistani Public Compares Sahar Hashmi to Bollywood’s Emraan Hashmi

Sahar Hashmi has quickly become one of the most talked-about new faces in Pakistani dramas. She made her debut with Zulm and has since appeared in several hit serials, including Shaidai on Geo and Zanjeerein on Hum TV. The actress is known for being comfortable with intimate scenes, something that drew criticism earlier in her drama Mann Mast Malang, which went viral for the wrong reasons.

Now, social media users are comparing her to Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi, who became famous in the early 2000s for his on-screen kissing scenes and bold films, before working in recent years to change that image.

Pakistani audiences feel Sahar shares similar traits with Emraan, since she too does not shy away from filming close and intimate moments with her co-stars. A page on social media compiled clips of her hugging scenes from different dramas, which quickly caught public attention.

Reacting to the clips, one user joked, “Ofcourse it is in the name.” Another wrote, “She is the Pakistani Emraan Hashmi.” A third user was less kind, commenting, “Her acting is bad but she will film such bold scenes.”

The comparisons have sparked plenty of discussion online, with many calling Sahar the desi version of the Bollywood star, while others used the moment to criticize her acting skills alongside her choice of bold scenes.
