At the world’s most exclusive debutante ball, often described as the Met Gala for teenagers, a young woman carried a name deeply familiar to South Asia. Ella Wadia, the great-great-granddaughter of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, founder of Pakistan, made her Le Bal des Débutantes debut in Paris, at the opulent Shangri-La Paris.
Ella is the granddaughter of Nusli Wadia, son of Dina Wadia, and daughter of Jehangir Wadia and fashion designer Celina Wadia.
Ella’s presence at the ball immediately became the center of attention due to her family lineage. She is related to Quaid-e-Azam through his only daughter, Dina Wadia, who married Neville Wadia of the renowned Parsi Wadia industrial family. This marriage historically strained her relationship with her father.
Ella Wadia became the center of global attention after appearing at Le Bal. Her presence at the elite event created great curiosity, especially because of her family link to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Only 20 young women between the ages of 16 and 22 are invited each year.
Following her Paris debut, Ella was reportedly spotted at a London club alongside popular Pakistani content creator and TV personality Waqar Zaka, sparking social media buzz across Pakistan and India.

The footage seems to depict a young woman dancing and socializing with Waqar Zaka, a Pakistani media figure and crypto entrepreneur. Several users have asserted that the woman is Ella Wadia.
However, the authenticity of the video and the identities of those depicted have not been verified independently. The parties involved have not issued any official statements, and the allegations have yet to be confirmed.
Her appearance has sparked national debate about Jinnah’s descendants living abroad and their connection to Pakistan’s history.
