Mostafa Salameh, a Palestinian-Jordanian mountaineer, is on a mission to carry handwritten letters from children in Gaza to the top of Mount Everest.
This expedition, titled “Rising Dreams,” is described as a global call to humanity, a journey from the rubble of war to the roof of the world, from silence to voice, and from survival to hope.
Salameh’s climb is not just a personal challenge but also a powerful message aimed at highlighting the struggles endured by young ones in conflict zones. The letters he carries reflect the hopes and dreams of Gaza’s children, offering a glimpse into their lives.
Mostafa, a Palestinian refugee born to displaced parents, has spent his life climbing the highest mountains on Earth. Yet one dream remains unfulfilled: to enter Palestine freely and visit Gaza, a right he has been denied. So instead, Gaza comes with him.
Three children from Gaza were selected to represent thousands. Through film, storytelling, and global meetings, they share their dreams, drawings, and hopes. Mostafa carries their messages physically to Everest’s summit.
Gaza is home to one of the largest populations of child amputees in the world today. Thousands of children have lost limbs due to the ongoing conflict. This campaign also aims to raise $10 million USD for medical care, prosthetics, rehabilitation, and psychological support.
The entire expedition is being professionally filmed, from preparation to summit, to ensure the children’s stories reach global audiences long after the climb is complete. Salameh’s journey reminds the world that even from the deepest devastation, dreams can still rise.
