TV actress Shagufta Ejaz has hit hard at Pakistan’s unfair system. In a viral social media post, she wrote: “Jis mulk mein school kay bachon ka nashta tayyar karne kay liye gas nahi hoti, us mulk mein gas company kay MD ki tankhaw 68 lakh rupay hai.”
Shagufta shared this after hearing about government schools where children go hungry. In many places like Sindh and Punjab, gas loadshedding starts at 6 AM. Poor families can’t make tea, paratha, or eggs for kids before school. Teachers say students come weak and can’t study well.
But Sui Northern Gas (SNGPL) Managing Director’s salary is Rs68 lakh per month, plus house, car, and bonuses. That’s more than Rs8 crore a year! Shagufta asked: “How can leaders sleep when kids starve?”
People online agree 100%. “Shame on this system!” one wrote. “Gas company fails, but MD gets rich,” said another. Reports show gas shortages hurt homes most, while big factories get priority.
Shagufta ended: “This gap between poor people and powerful bosses breaks hearts.” Her words wake us up. When children can’t eat breakfast, no salary is too big. it is time for fair gas and fair pay.
