Abu Rohan has become one of the most familiar faces on Pakistani television, but not for playing a hero or a villain. He is best known for one special role: the Nikah Khuwan, or marriage officiant, who appears in wedding scenes across countless dramas. Abu Rohan is a senior Pakistani actor known for playing this role, and over the years he has appeared as a Nikah Khuwan or Maulvi Sahab in many hit serials, including popular shows like Tere Bin, Siyani, Sunn Mere Dil, and Yunhi.
Interestingly, acting was never his original profession. Abu Rohan actually works as a successful jeweler in Karachi. His journey into television happened by chance. Around 35 years ago, a TV channel invited him as a jeweler to appear on a morning show and answer viewers’ questions about gold. During that appearance, drama makers noticed how comfortable he was in front of the camera, and that is how his acting career began.

Since then, Abu Rohan has become a familiar and much-loved part of Pakistan’s drama industry. He has now solemnized Nikah in around 80 to 85 dramas, earning him the reputation as television’s most recognized Nikah Khuwan. Even though his scenes are usually short, audiences instantly recognize him whenever a wedding scene appears on screen.
Abu Rohan’s story shows how a small, unplanned opportunity can turn into a long and memorable career. From selling jewelry to becoming a television regular, his journey has made him a unique and beloved figure in Pakistani entertainment.
