Dr Nabiha Ali Khan Slammed for Blaming Women in Violence Cases

Psychologist and social media personality Dr Nabiha Ali Khan is facing severe backlash online after making controversial remarks about the rise in violence against women in Pakistan. Dr Nabiha Ali Khan is known less for her professional field and more for her personal life and controversial statements, often positioning herself as someone who gives lessons to women about maintaining their dignity and character.

Speaking on the podcast Bluetruth Digital, Nabiha claimed that modern women are partly responsible for the increase in rape cases and violence against them. She said that women today form friendships with men and, in her words, “use them,” which she suggested provokes these men into kidnapping and harming them. She further argued that being taken from one’s own home counts as kidnapping, but willingly getting into a stranger’s car does not, implying such women share the blame for what happens to them.

Her remarks, widely seen as victim-blaming, sparked outrage on social media. Reactions poured in quickly, with one person telling her to “keep your mouth shut,” while another asked pointedly whether people who are raped are somehow at fault. A third comment accused her of “pick me” behaviour, a term for someone who puts down their own gender to gain approval.

The clip has continued to circulate widely, reigniting broader conversations about victim-blaming and the responsibility of public figures when discussing sensitive issues like gender-based violence.
