Zombeid Opens at Rs. 21.34 Crore: Pakistan’s Biggest Box Office Opening in History

Zombeid, a Pakistani Urdu-language zombie action thriller, was released worldwide on May 27, 2026, coinciding with the festive occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. And it didn’t just arrive, it arrived with a bang, recording Rs. 21.34 crore in its opening weekend, the highest ever for any film in Pakistan’s box office history.

Directed by Nabeel Qureshi and produced by Fizza Ali Meerza and Mehdi Ali under the banner of Filmwala Pictures, the film stars the beloved on-screen pair of Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat alongside Babar Ali in a key supporting role.

This marks their fourth collaboration together, following Na Maloom Afraad (2014), Actor in Law (2016), and Load Wedding (2018), and their first reunion on screen in eight years.

The film faced stiff Eid competition. Zombeid went head-to-head against Shaan Shahid’s Psycho and Farhan Saeed’s Luv Di Saun, yet dominated prime showtime slots across major cinema chains, including Nueplex, Cinepax, and Cue Cinemas.

Fahad Mustafa’s box office momentum has been unstoppable in 2026. His earlier film Aag Lagay Basti Mein had already shattered records with Rs. 16.2 crore in a single opening weekend, even surpassing Avengers: Endgame’s previous all-time Pakistan record.

Zombeid now raises that bar even further, proving that Pakistani cinema is not just growing, it’s breaking its own ceiling with every big release.
