Uqba Aqib, daughter of former Pakistani cricketer and current national team head coach Aaqib Javed, has gotten married in the United Kingdom. The happy news was shared by Uqba’s mother, Farzana Aqib, who posted wedding pictures on her Facebook page.
According to Farzana’s post, the wedding took place on August 9 in the UK. She shared prayers and warm wishes for the newly married couple and both families. In the pictures, Uqba can be seen wearing an elegant white sleeveless wedding gown, while the groom wore formal wedding attire.

Uqba has a strong academic background herself. She completed her degree in Media and International Journalism from the University of Sussex a few years ago.

The wedding has drawn a lot of attention online, partly because of her father’s well-known cricket career and partly because of her mother’s popularity as a writer. Farzana Aqib is a respected English-language poet with a large following of over 300,000 people on Facebook. She has written close to 70 poetry books and has received several international awards for her literary work. One of her notable books uses poetry to tell the story of Islamic history.
In similar celebrity wedding news, Pakistani actress Durefishan Saleem recently shared that she personally prefers a simple Nikkah ceremony over a big, event-filled wedding. She said she would rather keep her own wedding small and intimate, surrounded only by close family and friends, instead of hosting large, elaborate celebrations.
