The actor has officially confirmed to Variety magazine that he and his partner, Gauri Spratt, will be getting married on July 5 this year. “The news about the marriage is true. It’s on July 5,” he told the publication while travelling in the US.
What makes this especially interesting is that Aamir had a very different tune just a few months ago. In a podcast appearance, he had said marriage was not an immediate priority, that the couple was happy living together and enjoying domestic life. So what changed? Khan explained simply that their relationship had naturally progressed, saying: “Now we both feel we are ready to take our relationship to the next level.”
The actor also opened up about how he feels right now. “I am at peace. Gauri and I are serious about each other, and we are in a very committed space,” he said, adding that he feels “complete” today.
So who is Gauri Spratt? She has roots in Bengaluru and works in the wellness and beauty sector. Khan introduced her to the media during his 60th birthday celebrations in March last year, and the two have known each other for years before gradually growing closer.
This will be Aamir’s third marriage. He was previously married to Reena Dutta, with whom he has two children, Junaid and Ira, and later to filmmaker Kiran Rao, with whom he shares a son, Azad.
