A hotel receptionist in Pakistan says she lost her job after appearing in a short video with popular YouTuber Rajab Butt. The incident has caused a stir on social media, with many people asking the hotel owner to give her the job back.
According to reports, Rajab Butt visited the hotel where the woman worked at the front desk. She recognized him and asked him for a shout-out, requesting that he tell his followers to subscribe to her YouTube channel. She later said she had wanted to meet him for a long time and had tried reaching out to him before.
The receptionist said her manager was standing nearby when the video was filmed and did not stop her or say anything at the time. It was only afterward, she claims, that her employer informed her she would no longer be needed at work. She shared a message she says was sent by her boss, telling her to settle her final dues by the next afternoon.
Some reports suggest the hotel owner is personally acquainted with Rajab Butt, which may have influenced the decision. The receptionist has said that she suspected she might face consequences but did not expect to actually lose her job over a simple video.
Since her story spread online, many social media users have criticized the hotel for the decision, calling it unfair and asking that she be reinstated.
