Pakistani fashion brand Taana Baana thought it had a creative marketing idea for Eid ul Adha, but the internet had other thoughts, and they were not kind.
The brand recently launched its new Eid ul Adha collection named “Qurban,” featuring a photoshoot concept where female models wore the brand’s new outfits surrounded by freshly cut meat from sacrificial animals. Yes, you read that right, designer clothes and raw qurbani meat, together in one frame.
The brand did issue a disclaimer stating that none of the meat or other material used in the photoshoot was wasted. But that did little to cool down the angry crowd online.

The public reaction was swift and brutal. One user asked bluntly whether the brand was trying to sell meat or suits. Another said whoever came up with this idea lacks basic sense. One commenter called the shoot incredibly distasteful, while another sarcastically suggested the outfits were meant to be worn while shopping for sacrificial animals at the market.
A user described it as the most useless marketing concept, while another remarked it looked like a deliberate attempt to go viral through controversy. One sharp commenter even said the creative head seems to be as seasonal as many seasonal workers during Qurban.
The big question everyone is asking, was genuine creativity or just shock tactics dressed up in pretty fabric. Either way, Taana Baana is definitely getting talked about this Eid season.
