A viral video showing actor Meera in a physical scuffle with a member of her household staff has caught the attention of social media, but police say the matter was actually from June and has already been resolved.
Police confirmed the grainy CCTV clip was old footage, and the incident was fully investigated when it first happened. Both Meera and her domestic worker, identified as Yasmeen, were called in for questioning at the time. A spokesperson for the Lahore Deputy Inspector General (Operations) said Yasmeen told police she did not wish to file any complaint or take legal action, and that the issue had been settled between the two women. Her statements were recorded in writing and on video as part of the police record.
Interestingly, Meera had earlier filed a complaint accusing Yasmeen of stealing items, including a bag and clothes. She withdrew that complaint once the missing items were returned.
After the old video resurfaced and went viral this week, more confusion followed online. A separate video showed a woman with visible facial injuries asking for her attacker to be jailed, though she did not name Meera. Then a third video appeared, featuring a woman introducing herself as Yasmeen at a police station. She denied any fight had taken place, said she was still working happily for Meera, and claimed the injury video was fake and made using artificial intelligence.
With police confirming the case was closed months ago and both sides on the same page, authorities say there is no active investigation or dispute between Meera and her employee.
