Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has helped raise a large amount of money for humanitarian relief in Gaza. The Reviewit.pk report says she collected 180,000 pounds through meet-and-greet events, with all proceeds going toward Palestine.
Mahira travelled to London, where she took part in a two-day fundraising initiative organised by Luxe Events UK, partnering with the charity Forgotten Women, which provides humanitarian aid to families in Gaza. The first event was held on Saturday, 25 July, at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, and the second on Sunday, 26 July, at the Warbrook House Hotel. Both events were hosted by media personality Haroon Rashid.
During the evening, Mahira joined an interactive Q&A session, spoke about using public platforms for humanitarian causes, and encouraged people to keep supporting those in difficult circumstances. In one sweet moment, a fan asked her to sing the famous Humsafar title track, but instead of singing herself, Mahira invited the fan to perform it, and the audience joined in for a joyful singalong.
Not everyone reacted positively, though. Some social media users called Mahira hypocritical, pointing out that she has endorsed global brands like L’Oréal Paris and Pepsi, which have faced boycott calls linked to the Israel-Palestine conflict. Still, most fans appreciated her effort, with many online praising her looks and her charity work.
Mahira Khan, a UNHCR ambassador, has long used her platform to speak up for humanitarian causes, and this fundraiser adds to her ongoing support for Palestine.
