Cristiano Ronaldo is moving beyond football and into television. The Al-Nassr and Portugal star will make his scripted acting debut in a new drama series called “Day 1s.” He will also work as executive producer through his production company, UR-Marv Studios, which he co-founded with “Kingsman” director Matthew Vaughn.
The show does not focus on real footballers. Instead, it tells the story of Stanley Dalton, a fictional football agent, played by British actor Damian Lewis, known for “Homeland” and “Billions.” Thierry Henry and rapper Dave are also expected to feature in the series, along with newcomer Carlotta Banat.
The idea for the show came from football agent Darren Dein, who represents Henry and is also an executive producer on the project. Filming is already underway at Barnet FC’s stadium in north-west London, and Henry has reportedly been spotted on set.
Speaking about the project, Ronaldo called it an exciting new chapter as he looks toward life after playing. This comes shortly after Portugal’s exit from the 2026 World Cup at the round-of-16 stage against eventual champions Spain, a result that marked the end of Ronaldo’s World Cup career.
“Day 1s” is the first television series to come from UR•Marv Studios, and it has drawn comparisons to HBO’s “Ballers” for its business-focused look at professional sport. No broadcaster or streaming platform has been confirmed yet, though reports suggest major streamers are already showing interest. Ronaldo remains focused on playing for Al-Nassr while building this new chapter of his entertainment career.
