Pakistani actress and former model Jia Ali has once again spoken publicly about her marriage, giving details about her husband’s first marriage during a recent interview.
Jia Ali, born on September 8, 1972, in Lahore, rose to fame as a supermodel in the 1990s before moving into acting, appearing in dramas such as “Band Khirkyon Kay Peechay,” “Hum Tehray Gunahgaar,” “Pukaar” and “Meer Abru.” She married Imran Idrees, a Hong Kong-based cricket coach and businessman, in May 2021, when she was 48 years old.

In her latest remarks, Jia Ali said she is her husband’s second wife. According to her, Imran married a Chinese woman from Hong Kong when he was just 22 years old. The couple had two daughters together, now aged 18 and 20, before separating. Jia said Imran had already been divorced for about ten years by the time she married him in his 40s.
She said she was aware of his first marriage from the start of their relationship and pointed to the respectful terms he maintained with his ex-wife as one reason she felt confident he would be a good husband. Jia added that she does not have a personal relationship with Imran’s former wife but shares a close bond with his two daughters, whom the couple co-parents.

Jia and Imran had reportedly known each other as family friends for years before their wedding, which took place in Lahore. She has spoken about their relationship on several television appearances, including ARY Digital’s “Good Morning Pakistan” and PTV’s “Morning at Home.”
