Samar Jafri’s “Khasara” and “Har Baar” Named Among Spotify’s 50 Best Outstanding Pakistani Songs of 2026

Spotify has released its list of 50 outstanding Pakistani songs of 2026, and singer Samar Jafri stands out with two tracks making the cut: “Khasara” and “Har Baar.”

“Khasara,” made with Abdul Hannan, has been praised for its unique take on heartbreak, focusing on self-reflection and personal accountability instead of blaming someone else for a broken relationship. The song has struck a chord with listeners for its honest and mature approach to a common theme in music.

The second track, “Har Baar,” was created with Murtaza Qizilbash, who paired a slow, gentle musical arrangement with poetry about longing, vulnerability and the hope of getting back together with someone. Both songs highlight a softer, more emotional style that has connected well with fans across Pakistan.

Spotify’s list also includes other notable songs such as Asim Azhar’s “Tu Hai Wohi,” which reimagines a classic 1982 Bollywood song for today’s listeners, Talha Anjum, Talhah Yunus and Jokhay’s “Shikaar,” and Hasan Raheem and Umair’s “Bewajah.” Azhar’s version blends Urdu, Punjabi and English lyrics with modern R&B sounds, aiming to bring an old, familiar tune to a younger audience.

Samar Jafri, who began his career as a child actor and later became known for television dramas like “Mayi Ri” and “Parwarish,” has been steadily building his name as a singer as well. His inclusion twice in Spotify’s list shows how much his music has grown in popularity this year. The recognition from Spotify highlights the fresh new voices shaping Pakistan’s music scene in 2026.
