Pakistani comedian Tabish Hashmi announced his exit from Geo TV’s popular comedy talk show “Hasna Mana Hai” after nearly five years as its host. He shared the news on Instagram, writing that it was “great while it lasted, from 2022 to 2026” and thanking his team and viewers for their support.
Hashmi did not give a reason for leaving. This has led to heavy speculation online, with many fans linking his exit to a recent video he posted about the Azad Kashmir issue. Several celebrities and fans rallied behind Hashmi, with some suggesting his farewell may be linked to him speaking out on sensitive issues, since media contracts often restrict political commentary.

It’s worth noting that a similar situation happened in 2023, when rumours spread that Hashmi was being replaced by Ahmed Ali Butt as host, a claim that turned out to be a social media prank meant to boost the show’s ratings. Now this has happened again. Geo News announced a refreshed look for the show with the old host, who is none other than Tabish Hashmi. The show is getting a new presentation and set while keeping the comedian at the centre of the programme.
The tagline “new software, same Tabish Hashmi” has been used to present the revamped concept, providing fans with a clear notion of what to expect from the new edition. The show will still emphasise comedy, celebrity discussions, and Tabish Hashmi’s sharp wit despite the visual style change.
Geo’s official listings show Tabish Hashmi hosting episodes with guests including Hira Mani, Humayun Saeed, Vasay Chaudhry, Wahab Riaz, and Fawad Alam in July 2026.
The programme is currently listed on Geo News from Friday to Sunday at 11:05 pm.
Hashmi rose to fame through the digital show “To Be Honest” and Karachi stand-up comedy before joining Geo TV in 2022. He also currently hosts “Pakistan Got Talent.” Geo TV has not said whether the show will continue with a new host.
