Controversial religious figure Mufti Abdul Qavi has made headlines again after openly admitting he is a “tharki,” a term commonly used in Pakistan to describe someone who flirts or shows interest in others.
The comment came during a podcast hosted by Fareeha Farrukh. When she asked him directly whether he considered himself a flirt, Mufti Qavi replied that yes, he was, and said he would admit it a thousand times over. He added that he sees himself as open-hearted and open-minded, and that noticing things about people’s personalities is simply part of who he is. He gave this as his own explanation for what he called being a “tharki.”
His remarks quickly spread across social media, drawing a mixed response from users. Some criticized Fareeha Farrukh for having him on her podcast in the first place, questioning why she would invite someone with his reputation. Others took a more neutral view, saying that at least he was being honest about himself instead of pretending otherwise.
Mufti Abdul Qavi has long been a controversial personality in Pakistan, known for making bold and often debated statements in public. This is not the first time his comments have triggered widespread discussion online, and reactions to his latest remarks continue to pour in across platforms.
As of now, there has been no further statement from either Mufti Qavi or Fareeha Farrukh regarding the viral reaction to the podcast episode.
