Pakistani actress Meera has shared an interesting behind-the-scenes detail about her upcoming psychological thriller Psycho, which writer-director Shaan Shahid originally envisioned for himself before offering it to her.
Psycho is one of the most talked-about Pakistani films of 2026, released on Eid al-Adha (May 27, 2026). The film is written, directed, and co-starred by Shaan Shahid, who serves a triple role on the project. The ensemble cast also includes Sonya Hussyn, Javed Sheikh, Nayyar Ejaz, and Shabbir Jan. The film is produced under Meera’s own banner, Red Lipstick Productions, in partnership with SB Films and co-produced by Geo Films.
Meera plays a psychopathic character in the film, one of the most intense roles of her career. The actress admitted that the role deeply affected her mental health during filming. She even travelled to New York to consult a psychologist to recover from the emotional toll. “I have never performed such an intense character like this,” she said in a recent interview.
She has also praised Shaan Shahid’s directorial vision, saying the on-screen performance was not just hers; it was his vision brought to life. Shaan, on his part, has said that Meera will surprise everyone with her performance.
The film’s tagline, “the real enemy stays in the mind,” sets the tone for a dark and gripping story that Pakistani cinema rarely explores.
