One Family, Nine Weddings: Multan Mass Marriage Goes Viral in Pakistan

A heartwarming story from Shujabad, a town near Multan in Punjab, is going viral across Pakistan. Nine young men from the same family married nine of their cousins in a single wedding ceremony, refusing to accept dowry and hosting the event under one roof.

The nine grooms, Muhammad Kashif, Muhammad Asim, Muhammad Amin, Muhammad Naeem, Muhammad Naveed, Muhammad Rashid, Muhammad Bilal, Muhammad Shehbaz, and Muhammad Ali, decided collectively not to place any financial burden on the brides’ families.

Nine wedding processions arrived under one roof, followed by a collective walima (reception) hosted jointly by the families. The event was simple, affordable, and full of joy.

The event went viral on social media, with many users praising the groom as “heroes” for setting an example rarely seen in modern times.

Family members said the decision was made collectively and deliberately, to demonstrate that marriages can be conducted with dignity and mutual respect without imposing financial demands on the bride’s side.

Many users called it a positive step toward easing social pressures surrounding marriage in Pakistan, where dowry demands often delay or prevent marriages. This family has truly set a beautiful example for the whole country.
