FIA Busts Human Organ Smuggling Network in Islamabad, Arrests Five

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has busted an alleged human organ smuggling network in Islamabad, arresting five suspects, including three Chinese nationals and two Pakistani citizens. The raid was carried out late Thursday night in the city’s upscale F-7 sector after the agency received credible intelligence about illegal activity at the location.

During the raid, FIA officials found a complete plant for the illegal processing of human organs, especially human placenta, at the house. Officials revealed that the accused used to illegally process and dry human placenta at the facility. The finished products were then exported to Vietnam under the name “She Placenta.”

Acting on information from the arrested suspects, FIA teams carried out a second raid at another house in Islamabad’s E-11 sector. A similar processing centre was found operational there, and processing equipment, along with finished goods, were recovered from the suspects.

The FIA has registered a case against all suspects under the relevant sections of the Human Organs Transplantation Act, 2010. Investigators believe the Pakistani nationals were acting as facilitators and drivers, helping the foreign nationals collect, process, and transport the biological material.

Authorities say this is not the first such case in the federal capital. Earlier this year, police in Rawalpindi rescued a labourer who had been abducted by a gang involved in surgically removing kidneys from poor, healthy workers to transplant into wealthy patients from abroad. A similar illegal kidney transplant racket was also busted in Islamabad’s G-16 sector.

The investigation is ongoing, with officials working to trace the full network and identify all those involved.
