Senior Pakistani actress and director Sangeeta has spoken publicly for the first time about her third marriage, revealing details during an appearance on a television talk show hosted by Yasir.
Sangeeta, whose real name is Parveen Rizvi, is a well-known figure in Pakistan’s film and drama industry, having worked as both an actress and director for decades. She has directed popular films such as Society Girl, Nikah and Sona Chandi, and remains active in the industry, currently working on the upcoming film Mukho and the drama serial Bhulley Shah.
During the interview, Sangeeta shared that her first two marriages, to Humayun Qureshi and Naveed Akbar, had ended in divorce due to abuse she faced. She explained that both relationships involved physical violence, which she said was something she could not tolerate, comparing it to a part of the body that must be removed if it causes harm.
She revealed that she married for a third time roughly fourteen years ago, to Tariq Mendro, a distributor associated with the film industry. Sangeeta said she chose to remarry after her daughters were settled, wanting companionship in her later years. She credited the stability of her current marriage to mutual respect and the couple’s habit of staying calm rather than arguing during disagreements.
