Veteran Bollywood actress Ratna Pathak Shah has spoken fondly about Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, recalling their time working together on the 2016 film Kapoor & Sons. In a recent interview, she described Fawad as very intelligent and confident, someone who clearly knew who he was as a person and an actor.
Ratna noted that even though Fawad was already a huge star in Pakistan before entering Bollywood, he never let that fame affect his behavior on set. Instead, he blended in easily with the rest of the cast and crew, treating everyone as equals and working as part of the team rather than acting like a celebrity.
Kapoor & Sons, directed by Shakun Batra, featured Fawad alongside Rishi Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Rajat Kapoor. Ratna played his on-screen mother in the film, a role she had also played earlier in Fawad’s Bollywood debut, Khoobsurat (2014). Because of this, Fawad has often referred to her fondly as his “permanent filmi maa.”
This isn’t the first time Ratna has praised Fawad. She has previously spoken about his charm and the strong fan following he built among Indian audiences during his short but memorable Bollywood career, which also included the film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
