Aamir released “Pablo” on September 9, marking her first official venture into music after a decade-long acting career. The Punjabi hip-hop track was written and composed by Aamir herself. It opens with a soft piano tune before moving into an upbeat rap, in which she responds to critics who have called her image “fake” and questioned her personality. The song also touches on the intense public attention she receives, including her popularity in India. Adding an unexpected twist, the track features a voice cameo from Indian television personality Rakhi Sawant, who offers Aamir words of encouragement near the end.
Azhar and Aamir have known each other for years and were previously linked romantically, though both have said they are simply close friends. The two have frequently supported each other’s work, with Azhar recently attending Aamir’s public appearances and the pair often complimenting one another’s projects on social media.
