Rawalpindi police have wrapped up their investigation into the death of 28-year-old Komal Jan, a well-known female biker and TikTok creator, ruling it an accident. Komal, who worked at the Election Commission of Pakistan, fell into the Soan River near a bridge in DHA Phase I while she was reportedly recording a TikTok video.
The incident came to light after someone called the emergency helpline 15 to report that a woman had fallen into the river. Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the scene and began a search operation. After several hours, they recovered her body from the river, roughly three kilometers from where she had fallen, showing how strong the current had carried her downstream.
At the scene, police found Komal’s motorcycle parked near the river, along with her handbag, helmet, and one of her mobile phones. A second phone, which she was apparently using to record her video, was recovered separately. Investigators say she had spoken to her family shortly before the accident happened.
During the investigation, police also looked into whether the incident could have been something other than an accident, including the possibility of suicide. However, after reviewing witness statements and evidence, they concluded it was accidental. Komal’s family has also described it as an accident and has not raised suspicion against anyone.
Komal was known online for her passion for heavy-bike riding and had built a following by sharing videos of her rides on social media.
