Former Spanish Moto2 racer Axel Pons has once again captured attention online after being spotted walking barefoot in the scenic Chitral valley of Pakistan. Once known for competing at high speeds on the racing track, Pons has now chosen a completely different path, one built on simplicity, faith, and slow travel.
Pons, the son of two-time 250cc World Champion Sito Pons, raced in Grand Prix motorcycling from 2008 to 2017. He later stepped away from the fast-paced world of racing and modeling to pursue a spiritual and minimalist lifestyle. In 2023, he began walking barefoot from Spain, carrying nothing but a backpack, on a journey that has since taken him through more than ten countries.

By late 2024, Pons had reached Pakistan, where videos of him quickly went viral. He introduced himself using the name “Isa,” reflecting his spiritual direction, while confirming his birth name was Axel. He has been seen exploring different regions of Pakistan, including Chitral, where locals have welcomed him warmly.
In his own words, Pons has described his journey as a way of releasing life’s excess weight and seeking a deeper connection with God. He has walked without shoes for years, calling it part of his search for peace and simplicity, far removed from his former high-speed career.
His story continues to inspire people worldwide, showing that a life once built on speed and fame can be traded for one centered on humility, faith, and human connection.
