British Filmmaker Cyrus Patel Converts to Islam After Saudi Project

Mumbai-born British filmmaker Cyrus Patel has embraced Islam in London, according to documents that have gone viral on social media. The news comes just a day after Hollywood actor Giancarlo Esposito made headlines for also embracing Islam, adding to the buzz around the conversion.

An official conversion certificate, issued by the London Central Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre, was recently shared online by Turki Al-Alalshikh, Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority. He revealed that Patel’s decision came after he spent time filming a movie project in Saudi Arabia.

The news has drawn wide attention online, especially since it follows closely after reports of Esposito’s own conversion during his stay in Saudi Arabia. Many social media users have been discussing both conversions together, noting how the film industry’s connection to Saudi Arabia seems to be influencing personal journeys of faith.

Born in Mumbai, Cyrus Patel has lived in London since 1999 and has built a strong career in the international film industry. He works as a Line Producer and Unit Production Manager and has contributed to major film productions, including The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and Kandahar.

Patel began his career with the sales team at MGM (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer) in Richmond. Over the years, he expanded his work across New York, India, Saudi Arabia, and several European countries, becoming a respected name in large-scale international film production.
