Pakistani music duo Sabri Sisters have been featured on a digital billboard in New York’s famous Times Square. The honour came through Spotify’s EQUAL programme, which supports and promotes female artists from around the world.
The duo, made up of sisters Anamta and Saman Sabri, appeared on the billboard on June 17. They are among a growing number of Pakistani women artists chosen for this global recognition programme.

The Sabri Sisters belong to one of the most respected qawwali families in South Asia. They are the nieces of legendary qawwal Amjad Sabri and come from the famous Sabri Gharana, the same family that produced the renowned Sabri Brothers. Their family has helped shape and preserve qawwali music for many generations.
Working in a field traditionally led by men, the Sabri Sisters have built a strong name for themselves by mixing traditional Sufi and qawwali styles with modern music. This blend has helped them connect with younger listeners in Pakistan and abroad.
The sisters first became widely known in 2017 with a tribute song for their late uncle, Amjad Sabri. Since then, they have collaborated with popular artists such as Asim Azhar, Atif Aslam, and Farhan Saeed. Their song Meri Zindagi Hai Tu with Asim Azhar became a major hit, staying on Pakistan’s Top 50 chart for more than 30 weeks. They have also performed on Coke Studio, including their 2024 track Maghron La with Rozeo.
The sisters called the honour special, saying it means a lot to follow respected artists like Abida Parveen and Sanam Marvi. They are now preparing for their first UK tour in summer 2026.
