BTS member Jungkook has made history by becoming the first Korean and Asian artist to surpass 3 billion streams on Spotify with a single song. His agency, BigHit Music, confirmed the milestone for his solo hit “Seven,” which has surpassed 3 billion streams on Spotify, making him the first Korean artist to hit the threshold with a single song. Notably, “Seven” is also the only song released in 2023 globally to reach this milestone, according to the agency.
Released in July 2023 with American rapper Latto, Seven quickly became a worldwide phenomenon and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, dominating charts in multiple countries. The song has shown remarkable staying power over the years. According to the Korea Herald, Seven has stayed on Spotify’s Weekly Top Songs Global chart for 153 weeks, the longest run for a solo single from an Asian singer.

The track has also earned several world records. It cinched four Guinness World Records for Jungkook, including the most streamed track on Spotify in one week for a male artist with nearly 90 million streams. Currently, Seven is the only song by an Asian artist in the Top 100 songs streamed on Spotify.
This achievement adds to Jungkook’s growing list of solo milestones, following his earlier success with his debut album Golden, which has also crossed billions of streams. Seven’s continued popularity, years after release, highlights Jungkook’s lasting influence as one of K-pop’s most successful solo artists worldwide.
