A controversy involving Pakistani actors Mamya Shahjafar and Arsalan Butt has taken a new turn after Butt gave a detailed response to harassment allegations made against him.
The issue began when Mamya Shahjafar appeared on Iffat Omar’s show, Say It All with Iffat Omar, and accused a co-star of behaving inappropriately with her. She claimed he made comments about her appearance, reacted aggressively to a discussion on feminism, and tried to hug her despite her refusal. Her initial remarks led many people online to blame actor Arsalan Khan, husband of actress Hira Khan. She later clarified that she was actually referring to Arsalan Butt, known for his role in the Hum TV drama Hadd.

Responding to the allegations in an interview on the podcast Voice of Click Me Pakistan, Arsalan Butt denied the claims and questioned why Mamya did not report the matter earlier. He argued that if the allegations were true, she should have approached the police or gone public at the time, rather than speaking about it years later. He also said he has taken legal action, including filing a complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and a separate defamation case against her in court.
Butt maintained that the accusations were baseless and said the matter is now before the courts, where he expects Mamya to be questioned about the timing and evidence behind her claims.
Both sides are expected to present their case in the legal proceedings, with the controversy continuing to draw attention on social media.
