Aamir Khan’s Team Wanted to Buy All Episodes of Moin Akhtar’s Loose Talk, Reveals Sarwat Gilani

Pakistani actress Sarwat Gilani has shared an interesting story about how much Bollywood star Aamir Khan admired the late comedy legend, Moin Akhtar. According to Gilani, Aamir Khan’s team once reached out wanting to acquire all the episodes of Loose Talk, the iconic Pakistani satire show that made Moin Akhtar a household name across the border too. The team was reportedly amazed by Moin Akhtar’s versatility, as he could play dozens of different characters on the show with ease, from politicians to common citizens, using only his voice, expressions, and timing.

This isn’t the first time Aamir Khan has spoken about his admiration for Moin Akhtar. He has publicly called himself a huge fan of the late actor, describing him as an incredibly talented performer.

During the same conversation, actress Rabya Kulsoom expressed sadness that artists of Moin Akhtar’s calibre are often not given the recognition they truly deserve within Pakistan itself. She pointed out how ironic it is that international icons celebrate such legends more openly than their own home audience sometimes does.

Loose Talk, created and written by Anwar Maqsood, ran on ARY Digital from 2002 to 2008 and featured Moin Akhtar impersonating hundreds of characters. The show remains one of the most beloved comedy programs in Pakistani television history, and even years after Moin Akhtar’s passing in 2011, his work continues to earn praise from artists across the border.
