YouTuber Taha Akram Exposes Alleged Mistreatment of Children at Edhi Home Karachi— Pakistan Reacts

Pakistani YouTuber Taha Akram, who has over 1.63 million subscribers on his channel Taha Official Shorts, has sparked a major national conversation after posting a video exposing the alleged hidden reality of an Edhi Child Home, the famous shelter for children founded by the late Abdul Sattar Edhi.

In his video, Taha shared that he visited the facility, spent time with the children, and had conversations with them. He noticed that many of the children had bruises, bleeding, and infections on their hands. While some children stayed silent out of fear, a few told him they were being physically harmed at the home.

Taha said the experience broke his heart, adding that people generally assume children in shelter homes are safe, but that is not always the case. He urged the public to raise their voices for these vulnerable children and share the video as much as they can so that it reaches to the main audience and authorities.

The video quickly went viral across social media. Users and celebrities began resharing the footage, with many tagging authorities and demanding action. One social media user claimed that someone they personally knew who worked at an Edhi centre had confirmed that children were being mistreated there.

Several people online also pointed out that the Edhi centres have not been managed with the same level of care since the passing of Abdul Sattar Edhi and his wife Bilquis Edhi.

The Edhi Foundation remains one of Pakistan’s most respected humanitarian organisations, which is why these allegations have hit the public particularly hard. Authorities have yet to make an official statement, but the pressure from the public continues to grow.
