Sanam Saeed and Emmad Irfani are coming back together on television in a new drama called Gulbahar, made for HUM TV. The two actors last worked together in the drama Kafeel, which received a lot of praise from critics and viewers. Now fans are excited to see this popular pair share the screen once again.
The first teaser for Gulbahar was released, showing the couple as husband and wife, now with a baby, and dealing with some hidden tension in their marriage. In the opening scene, Saeed’s character says with a sense of longing that maybe nobody’s life is truly complete, and everyone is missing something. Irfani’s character responds by saying that instead of complaining about what you don’t have, you should be thankful for what you do.

Later in the teaser, Irfani’s character asks his wife why, after so many years of love between them, she is doing “this,” and where she found the courage to do it. The teaser does not explain exactly what “this” refers to, leaving fans guessing. Many viewers online think Saeed’s character may have decided to restart her career after becoming a mother, which could be causing friction between the couple.

The drama is written by Aliya Bukhari and directed by Mehreen Jabbar, who recently completed the hit show Doctor Bahu for ARY Digital. Gulbahar is produced by Momina Duraid Productions, the team behind many popular HUM TV dramas. No release date has been announced yet, with the channel simply saying the show is “coming soon.”
