A 28-year-old TikTok star from Pakistan has been shot dead in Taxila in what police believe was a planned attack. The victim, known online as Ayesha Gilamana, was legally named Shamsu Bibi. She had built a large following of about 1.3 million people on TikTok over the past three to four years.
According to a police report filed by her father, Ayesha left her house on August 14 in a car with her 15-year-old sister, Asmiya, and her brother, Nematullah. While they were on the road, men riding motorcycles stopped their vehicle and opened fire. Ayesha was hit several times and died on the spot. The shooting caused the car to crash, leaving her young sister badly hurt. Asmiya was taken to a hospital in Islamabad for treatment. The attackers escaped on their motorcycle.
Police have opened a murder case and are looking into several possible reasons behind the killing. Ayesha’s father claims she had money-related issues with two people and had been getting threats over unpaid dues. The police report also mentions that a man had phoned Ayesha shortly before the attack and urged her to leave her house, which is why investigators believe she may have been lured out on purpose.
Officers are now checking CCTV cameras, phone records, and evidence from the crime scene to piece together what happened. Ayesha’s body has been returned to her family after the post-mortem. Police say more details will come out as the investigation continues.
