For the first time, Pakistan is set to hold its own “Pakistan Influencer Awards” (PIA), a step aimed at formally recognizing the work of content creators and social media influencers in the country’s fast-growing digital space. The award ceremony will take place on November 7, honoring the best creators across more than 30 categories. Popular vloggers Amtul Baweja and Fahad Tariq, known for their vlog “Patangeer,” will host the event.
Talha Aslam, the Chief Curator of Pakistan, says the goal isn’t just to celebrate successful influencers, but to give proper direction and structure to Pakistan’s content creator industry. With millions of young people now treating social media as a real career rather than just entertainment, organizers believe healthy competition and quality content should be encouraged.
Awards will be given to creators from platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, in categories such as Creator of the Year, Emerging Creator, fashion, travel, beauty, lifestyle, fitness, gaming, music, parenting, and entertainment.
The selection process happens in stages. First, an algorithm will shortlist 20 candidates in each category, later confirmed through market surveys. A jury of well-known content creators will narrow this down to 10, and then a panel of marketing and advertising experts will pick five finalists. However, the jury won’t choose the final winner; that decision belongs to the public, who will vote for their favorite creators online starting in October.
