Veteran Pakistani actor Firdous Jamal, known for dramas like Pyare Afzal, Khuda Aur Mohabbat, and Waris, recently spoke about his lifetime ban by Hum TV and how podcasters often trap him into giving controversial statements.
Speaking on Ambreen Fatima’s YouTube show, Firdous addressed the ban calmly. He said that if Hum TV has banned him, it is their loss and not his, comparing it to a person refusing to buy a good product; the fault does not lie with the product itself. He added that not working with Hum TV does not affect him because earnings, or rizq, come from Allah, not from any channel head. He said no one is bigger than Allah when it comes to providing work and money. He also said he is a hardworking actor and that he only talks about people’s craft, not their personal lives.
Firdous also opened up about how podcasters often trick him into saying controversial things. He admitted he was unaware that many podcasters look for controversy during interviews. He said he is a simple Pathan and a Muslim man who does not easily understand people’s hidden tactics. He believes in speaking honestly and talking about the acting craft rather than gossip.
He further explained that he now understands why podcasters avoid discussing his acting skills and instead focus on controversial topics, since controversy attracts more attention and views than serious conversations about craft.
His remarks highlight a growing concern among senior actors about how digital media and podcasts often prioritize sensational content over meaningful discussion.
