Pakistani singer Atif Aslam recently opened up about his long music career, talking about creative blocks, his hit song Aadat, and why he decided to go independent again after 18 years.
In a recent interview, Atif made clear that he never once thought about quitting music, even though creative blocks are a natural and important part of being an artist. He explained that every artist goes through phases where ideas feel empty, followed by times when inspiration flows freely again. He said the key is to stay patient and keep moving forward.
Talking about Aadat, one of his most loved songs, Atif shared that people usually see it as a heartbreak song. But he said the real idea behind it was about self-awareness, and how people adjust themselves depending on their situation.
He also spoke about his new song Subha Aye Na from his latest album, saying it reflects his own self-exploration and his faith in Allah. Atif said his music always comes from his personal life and experiences, not from copying anyone else’s story.
The singer explained why he chose to release an independent album after 18 years. He wanted to move away from commercial pressure and get back to making music simply because he loves it.
Atif also shared a touching memory of a fan in India who travelled a long distance just to meet him and gave him a gift, calling it one of the sweetest gestures he has experienced. He added that his music reaches far beyond Pakistan, with large fan bases in India and Bangladesh.
