Actor Shuja Asad has shared an emotional farewell note after the finale of his drama serial Doctor Bahu. In a heartfelt Instagram post, he thanked everyone who watched the show, saying he was grateful to those who “watched, supported, debated, agreed, disagreed, and felt something” throughout its run.
Asad said one of the most rewarding parts of being an actor is that a story can spark conversations even after it ends. He hoped that Doctor Bahu had encouraged families to talk more openly at home about tough subjects like grief, control, unhealthy relationships, forgiveness, and accountability. If the drama managed to do that, he said, then he and his team had achieved something meaningful.
Talking about his character Salman, Asad explained that he was written as a flawed, human character rather than a perfect one. He said Salman made mistakes, carried pain, and sometimes became someone he didn’t want to be. But what made the role special, according to Asad, was that his character owned up to his mistakes, apologized, and tried to do better.
The actor also expressed thanks to his cast, director, writers, producers, and the entire crew who worked behind the scenes on the project. He shared a photo with his co-star Kubra Khan, who had posted her own note of appreciation a day earlier.
Khan described the nine months spent filming the show as feeling more like time with close friends than co-workers, comparing the set’s bond to old school and college friendships.
