Pakistani cinema is celebrating another major milestone, as reports suggest that Aag Lagay Basti Mein, starring Fahad Mustafa and Mahira Khan, has crossed PKR 101 crore at the worldwide box office. While this exact figure has not been confirmed through official studio statements, the claim reflects the film’s continued strong performance since its release.
The crime-comedy first hit cinemas on Eid-ul-Fitr, March 21, 2026, and quickly became one of the biggest hits of the year. It set records right from its opening weekend, earning Rs. 16.2 crore in Pakistan alone, breaking the previous Eid opening record held by Love Guru (2025).
By mid-April 2026, industry trackers confirmed the film had crossed Rs. 86 crore worldwide, with Rs. 54.5 crore coming from Pakistan and Rs. 31.5 crore from overseas markets, including the US, Canada, the UK, the UAE, and Australia. At that point, it had already become ARY Films’ highest-grossing release ever and the second-highest-grossing Pakistani film of all time, trailing only The Legend of Maula Jatt (2022).
The film’s success didn’t stop there. Due to continued demand, it returned to cinemas across Pakistan months after its original release, drawing in audiences once again alongside newer releases. This extended theatrical run likely helped push its total collections even higher, which may explain the newer claims of it crossing the PKR 101 crore mark.
Directed by Bilal Atif Khan, the film follows a struggling Karachi couple who turn to crime out of financial desperation. It also stars Javed Sheikh and Tabish Hashmi in key roles, with Tabish’s performance receiving particular praise from critics and audiences.
If the PKR 101 crore figure is confirmed, it would further cement Aag Lagay Basti Mein as one of the biggest commercial successes in Pakistani film history, continuing to close the gap with The Legend of Maula Jatt‘s record.
