Veteran actor Waseem Abbas has spoken openly about why he does not live with his son and daughter-in-law, saying he fully respects their choice to live separately. He explained that his children are grown up and married, so it is completely normal for them not to live with their parents.
Talking about his son Ali Abbas and daughter-in-law, Waseem said he prefers staying in a guest house when he visits Karachi. He said this is not because his son or daughter-in-law don’t want him around, but because he does not want to create problems for them. Since his work often ends very late at night, he does not want his daughter-in-law staying up to serve him food or tea after a long day of caring for the children.
He also spoke about his daughter-in-law’s busy routine, which includes getting the kids ready for school, Quran classes, and other activities. Waseem said he does not want to add to her workload. Though his son and daughter-in-law feel upset when he stays elsewhere, he believes elders should also respect the privacy of younger family members.
Waseem also praised his son Ali as a well-mannered and patient person. Speaking about his past marriage to actor Saba Hameed, he said the two remain respectful towards each other even after their divorce, and would not mind working together again someday.
