Pakistani actress Kinza Hashmi has opened up about disturbing stalking incidents she has experienced, revealing how her personal safety was seriously threatened on multiple occasions.
In a recent interview, Hashmi disclosed that a fanatical admirer living abroad tried to arrange a marriage with her by bribing members of her domestic staff. The helpers, who had been working at her home for seven years, were found to be secretly sending private photographs of her house, personal belongings, and even medical prescriptions to this individual.
Hashmi said that discovering this betrayal caused her deep distress and made it very difficult for her to trust people going forward.
She also described a separate incident in which another stalker managed to track her down to a drama serial filming set. The same person later located her residential building but could not find her specific apartment because he did not know her apartment number. Hashmi said she had to rely on production staff to step in and remove the individual from the premises.
Reflecting on these experiences, Hashmi said such situations leave victims feeling completely helpless. She also noted that while public figures often face dangerous and invasive behaviour, filing formal complaints or taking legal action in such cases remains extremely difficult for many celebrities in Pakistan.
Her account sheds light on a serious but often ignored issue, the lack of strong legal protection for public figures facing stalking in Pakistan.
