Radhika Merchant’s Tiny Hermès Kelly Bag Worth PKR 7 Crore Steals the Show

When Radhika Merchant, wife of Anant Ambani and daughter-in-law of India’s richest family, stepped out carrying a barely visible silver bag, the internet could not stop talking about it, and for good reason.

The accessory in question is from the iconic Hermès Kellymorphose line, a rare jewellery collection by Hermès that reimagines its legendary Kelly bag as wearable art. The piece Radhika carried is officially called the Hermès Kelly Sac Bijou pendant with chain in sterling silver, and it is priced at approximately $235,000, which converts to roughly Rs 1.93 crore in Indian rupees, or around PKR 7 crore.

What makes this piece so unique is that it is technically not even a bag, it is a necklace. Hermès took its most iconic bag design and transformed it into a jewellery pendant, complete with a chainmail body, a signature Kelly front flap, a short strap, and a long shoulder chain.

The mini bag is smaller than an iPhone and made entirely of chainmail silver. It can barely fit a coin, yet its price tag could buy a luxury apartment in most Pakistani cities.

Radhika paired this extraordinary piece with a black lace saree and diamond jewellery at the grand NMACC launch event in Mumbai, turning what was essentially a necklace into the most talked-about fashion moment of the evening.

For Pakistan’s fashion-conscious audience, this is a glimpse into just how extraordinary ultra-luxury dressing can get at the highest levels of wealth.
