Pakistani actress Hania Aamir has taken up a new challenge outside acting and music, starting boxing training under WBO Youth World Champion Usman Wazeer. A video showing her practising basic boxing moves during a training session recently went viral on social media.
Wazeer, who hails from Astore in Gilgit-Baltistan and is nicknamed “The Asian Boy,” made history in 2022 as the first Pakistani boxer to win the WBO Youth World Title, defeating his Thai opponent by knockout. He remains unbeaten in his professional career and also holds Asian-level titles, having built a reputation as one of the country’s most successful boxers in recent years.
Speaking to Geo News, Wazeer explained that the viral training video was not shot for any drama, film or advertisement, clarifying that Aamir has a genuine and personal interest in the sport. He added that details about her first official boxing match would be announced in the near future, though no date or format has been confirmed yet.
Aamir, known for her work in popular television dramas and films, recently branched into music as well with the release of her debut single. Her decision to now train in boxing has added to the buzz around her evolving public image, with fans reacting with excitement and curiosity online about what her venture into the sport might look like once further details are revealed.
